Tiger’s Lie

Tiger Woods is going to try to win the US Open at Pebble Beach starting Thursday.  Over the past six and half months his personal image has taken a major hit.  He’s lost both fans and sponsors, such as AT&T and Accenture Investments. During his career he has manage to create an image via his agent Mark Steines and IMG. As his image has turned out to be a perfect lie, Woods went back to practicing Buddhism.

I hate that Woods doesn’t like tough questions from the press, which he’s shown he’s comfortable cutting off reporters and media outlets. In February when Woods had his press conference to confession his affairs there were no questions asked just a prepared statement, in this it is obvious that he is trying to control the media. In that same press conference, Tiger said that he would be more respectful of the game.  Tom Watson criticized Woods for his outbursts after he had an episode in the 3rd round of the Masters that was heard live on CBS.  Jim Nantz, hosting the Masters coverage, took him to task over his actions because of the promises of being respectful of the game.

Tiger Woods maybe the greatest golfer in history, but he will always to second best to Jack Nicklaus as a sportsman and gentleman.
