Game 1 Vs Senators

The Penguins played a complete game this evening to defeat the Ottawa Senators 4 to 1.     Paul Martin opened the scoring 2:41 into the 1st period on the power play, but a few minutes later Ottawa’s Colin Greening tied the game at 1.   Evgeni Malkin untied the game with a goal at 12:15 left in the 1st period.   Chris Kunitz scored a power play goal with 1:27 left in the 2nd period to give the Penguins a 3 to 1 lead after 2 periods.  Pascal Dupuis scored a shorthanded goal midway through the 3rd period to give them an insurance goal, and the Pens held on for the win and 1 to 0 series lead.   Tomas Vokoun played an outstanding game in the nets stopping 35 out of 36 shots.   Game 2 will be on Friday night at the Consol Energy Center with faceoff at 7:30 P.M
